Medical sources have confirmed that a young Palestinian man succumbed to injuries inflicted by Israeli army gunfire in the Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank, as reported by the official Palestinian news agency (WAFA) on Wednesday.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced the death of Atta Yasser Atta Musa, a 29-year-old resident of Marka village, south of Jenin, due to injuries sustained from Israeli forces’ gunfire.

This tragedy adds to the toll of Palestinian lives claimed by Israeli forces in the West Bank and Gaza Strip within the past 24 hours, bringing the total to six casualties.

Yesterday, four Palestinians lost their lives due to Israeli army gunfire, with three fatalities occurring in the Jenin refugee camp and the fourth on the outskirts of eastern Gaza, marking a continuous period of tension in Palestinian territories for several months.

According to Palestinian sources, an Israeli special forces unit entered the camp and surrounded a house.

An exchange of fire between Palestinian militants and Israeli forces ensued, followed by the deployment of military reinforcements to the camp.

The incident also saw the Israeli army conducting an airstrike using a drone and announcing the arrest of wanted activists.

In Gaza, a young man was killed, and nine others were injured by Israeli army gunfire during protests on the outskirts of eastern Gaza, near the separation fence with Israel.

The Gaza Ministry of Health issued a statement, reported by the German news agency DPA, confirming the death of a 25-year-old man due to gunshot wounds sustained during protests in Khan Younis in southern Gaza.

The ministry further indicated that at least nine others suffered various injuries, with one individual in critical condition due to Israeli army gunfire in eastern Gaza areas.

Scores of Palestinian youth gathered in three separate locations along Gaza’s eastern border, while the Israeli army declared its forces would respond with crowd dispersal methods and sniper fire.

Since the beginning of this year, over 230 Palestinians have lost their lives, with the majority falling victim to Israeli army gunfire in the West Bank, amid an unprecedented wave of tension not seen in years.
