Russia has suspended more than 40 flights from two western Moscow airports due to a Ukrainian drone attack.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the downing of a Ukrainian drone targeting Moscow on Thursday morning.

The ministry added that the drone was shot down near the city of Voskresensk, southeast of Moscow.

Both conflicting parties have engaged in drone attacks, with Kyiv declaring on Wednesday that it faced the most intense drone assault since spring.

The military administration of Kyiv posted on Telegram that Ukraine hasn’t witnessed an attack of this magnitude since spring; overall, more than 20 hostile targets have been destroyed by air defense forces.

Additionally, the defense ministry stated on Wednesday morning that air defense systems downed 3 Ukrainian drones over Bryansk province, one over Oryol province, and one over Kaluga province.

The systems also repelled an attack on the Baskov province airport.

The intensified Ukrainian drone offensive on Wednesday morning coincided with a naval landing attempt in the Black Sea, targeting the Russian fleet in the region, which has seen escalating tensions.

According to the ministry, a naval fleet aircraft destroyed 4 Ukrainian speedboats carrying around 50 paratroopers in an operation on the Black Sea waters.
