Palestine: Netanyahu’s Justifications for Racism “Misleading”

Ahmed Al-Dick, the political advisor to the Palestinian Foreign Minister, vehemently rejected the justifications and explanations provided by the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu concerning controversial statements made by extremist Israeli Minister Ben Gvir.

Ben Gvir had claimed in a press statement two days ago that his, his wife’s, and his children’s right to move freely in the occupied West Bank outweighed the Palestinians’ right to movement and that his right to life comes before the Palestinians’ right to move freely.

Netanyahu supported Ben Gvir’s statement, asserting, “Israel allows maximum freedom of movement in the West Bank for both Israelis and Palestinians.” Al-Dick pointed out that such statements from Netanyahu serve as another misleading tactic aimed at international public opinion, global officials, and the United Nations regarding the incitement, racism, hatred, and animosity expressed in Ben Gvir’s remarks.

Al-Dick added that the Israeli Prime Minister’s office failed to offer a fair political stance towards Palestinians, who are the indigenous people of the land. He also stated that Netanyahu’s comments failed to salvage Ben Gvir from accusations of incitement and racism, especially since the statement did not clarify who the “terrorists” that Netanyahu plans to exclude from freedom of movement are – whether they are members of extremist Israeli groups like “Price Tag” and “Hilltop Youth,” or innocent Palestinian civilians.

Al-Dick concluded, “What is required from Netanyahu is to put an end to all forms of Israeli incitement, fascism, hatred, and racism.”
