At least six people died on Saturday in the state of Tennessee, the United States, due to heavy rains and severe weather conditions, causing significant damage to homes and power outages, according to authorities.

Three individuals perished in the northern suburb of Nashville, the capital of this southeastern state.

Furthermore, a tornado struck the city of Clarksville in the northern part of the state, also resulting in casualties.

Authorities in Montgomery County confirmed that three people have lost their lives, two adults and a child, adding that 23 others are receiving treatment in hospitals.

They further explained that rescue teams are still conducting search and rescue operations following this disaster, urging residents not to take risks and venture out onto the roads.

Severe weather events and natural disasters can have devastating consequences, and authorities continue to monitor and respond to the situation in affected areas.
