4 Killed in India Train Shooting

In a shocking incident aboard a high-speed train between Jaipur and Mumbai, India, four people, including a police officer, were killed in a shooting carried out by a railway security officer.

According to a statement issued by the Western Railway in India, the unfortunate incident occurred on train number 12956, Jaipur-Mumbai Express.

Sub-Inspector Tika Rama, an assistant to the inspector, fell victim to the gunfire of his colleague, Police Constable Chetan Kumar. Prior to shooting his colleague, Constable Kumar reportedly pointed his firearm at the passengers.

Preliminary information suggests that Constable Kumar also killed three civilians during the shooting spree.

Following the tragedy, the constable attempted to escape from the scene using the train’s emergency brakes. However, railway guards promptly apprehended him and seized his weapons.

Railway authorities have confirmed the occurrence of the incident, which resulted in the loss of four lives, including the assistant sub-inspector.

The suspect has been taken into custody, and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting is currently underway.
