The meteorological authority confirmed the occurrence of eight tornadoes on Th٠ursday evening across seven different states in the country.

The devastating tornado swept across a swath of the United States from northeast Texas, through parts of Arkansas, and into parts of Indiana and Ohio on Thursday evening, according to the National Weather Service.

The exact number of casualties, who are now under the debris, remains unknown as rescue operations continue in the affected areas.
