An Israeli airstrike on the city of Bint Jbeil in southern Lebanon has resulted in the deaths of two individuals, as reported by the official Lebanese news agency.

The Israeli military stated that the strike targeted an arms depot belonging to militant factions in the region.

According to the Lebanese National News Agency, the strike occurred late last night and targeted a residential home in the Al-Awaini neighborhood of Bint Jbeil.

The attack, carried out in two successive waves, resulted in the deaths of two brothers and left their sister critically injured. The airstrike completely destroyed their home.

The Israeli military confirmed the operation, stating that their fighter jets targeted an arms depot in Bint Jbeil, along with a military building in Kfar Kila, another area in southern Lebanon.

The Israeli Defense Forces emphasized that these strikes were aimed at reducing the capabilities of militant groups operating in the region.

The strike on Bint Jbeil follows a similar incident last Saturday, where two civilians were killed in an Israeli airstrike on the village of Deir Mimas, also in southern Lebanon.

The Lebanese National News Agency and a security source reported these casualties, while the Israeli military claimed that the strike targeted armed militants in the area.

These recent airstrikes are part of a broader pattern of escalating violence between Israel and militant groups in southern Lebanon.

The region has been a hotspot for conflict, with frequent exchanges of fire and airstrikes contributing to a deteriorating humanitarian situation.

Civilian casualties and the destruction of infrastructure have raised concerns about the long-term stability and security of the area.
