The head of the regional military administration in Kherson, Oleksandr Prokudin, confirmed the death of one person and the injury of seven others due to Russian shelling targeting the Kherson area.
Prokudin, in a statement reported by the Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform on Thursday, stated that “Russian forces conducted 78 airstrikes in the Kherson region during the past day.”
He added that during the previous day, Russian forces launched “78 airstrikes, firing 422 mortar shells, artillery, tanks, multiple rocket launchers, and drones.”
Prokudin noted that the Russian army shelled residential neighborhoods in populated areas and educational and healthcare facilities in the city of Kherson.
On the other hand, Pavlo Kyrylenko, head of the regional military administration in the Donetsk region, announced today that two residents of the region were injured in a Russian shelling of the Donetsk area.
Kyrylenko, in a statement reported by the Ukrainian news agency Ukrinform, said, “Yesterday, the Russians injured two residents of the Donetsk region in Vuhlehirsk and Stepanivka.”
The Ukrainian official also pointed out that it is currently impossible to determine the exact number of casualties in Mariupol and Volnovakha.
Ukraine announced on Wednesday that the Russian army struck the Avdiivka area in Donetsk using tanks and multiple rocket launchers.
