On Aug. 16, the Ukrainian Air Force announced that they successfully intercepted and brought down 13 Shahed-136/131 kamikaze drones of Russian origin during the previous night.

In a statement, the Air Force mentioned, “In a brazen act, Russia deployed drones targeting our peaceful towns and settlements. Our air defense teams successfully neutralized 13 of these Shahed drones.”

Earlier, on the night of Aug. 15, the Air Force had identified and reported the launch of multiple Shahed kamikaze drones from Russia’s Primorsko-Akhtarsk airbase situated in the Krasnodar Oblast.

Local authorities further broke down the figures, confirming that 11 of these drones were shot down in the Odesa Oblast region, while two met their fate over the Mykolaiv Oblast.
