Algeria’s civil protection agency has reported a concerning surge of drowning incidents in the past 24 hours, with a total of 12 cases recorded across the country.
Out of these, ten cases occurred on “red flag” beaches where swimming is prohibited, highlighting the risks posed to beachgoers.
The tragic toll includes a 16-year-old who lost their life in a drowning incident, underscoring the urgent need for increased water safety awareness and measures to prevent such accidents.
