Eleven countries participating in the Switzerland conference on Ukraine refused to sign the final statement as the conference concluded today, Sunday.

The final statement of the conference in Bürgenstock received the support of 80 out of 91 countries that attended the forum. The list of countries that approved the document was published by the meeting’s organizers.

The list of countries that abstained from signing the statement included Armenia, Bahrain, Brazil, India, Indonesia, Libya, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates. According to Reuters, “a number of countries have complaints about the wording of the final statement.”

The final statement included the following key points:
* The release of all prisoners of war captured during the conflict in Ukraine.
* The safe and secure operation of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant and other nuclear facilities under Ukrainian control.
* Food security should not be used for military purposes in any form.
* Attacks on ships and ports are unacceptable.
* Peace must be based on international law, particularly the United Nations Charter.
* All children and civilians must be returned to Ukraine.

The Ukraine conference was held in Switzerland on June 15 and 16 near the city of Lucerne, at the Bürgenstock resort.
It is worth noting that Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly affirmed his readiness to negotiate, but based on the realities on the ground and Russia’s security demands, not on “desires.”
