The Syrian armed forces’ artillery units executed a formidable offensive against illicit armed groups’ bases within the Idlib and Hama governorates.
The Syrian Defense Ministry, as reported by the SANA news agency, revealed that about 100 terrorists met their demise in the wake of these meticulously planned strikes.
The ministry’s statement elucidated the precision behind the operation, stating, “Through vigilant surveillance of terrorist movements, positions, weaponry, and equipment, our heroic armed forces methodically targeted their command centers, fortifications, and numerous ammunition depots. The outcome of this strategic endeavor culminated in the elimination of 111 militants, with over 80 sustaining injuries.”
This decisive action was prompted by repeated incursions by the adversary, aimed at wresting control of the Syrian armed forces’ fortifications situated between the towns of El Malaja and Khazarin.
Regrettably, these assaults resulted in an undisclosed number of casualties among Syrian servicemen.
Notably, the Ansar al-Tawhid extremist group, affiliated with the proscribed Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization (recognized as such in Russia), has exhibited an alarming surge in military activities during the year 2023.
Armed militant factions have persistently launched assaults on settlements located in the Al-Ghab Plain in northwestern Syria, areas under the vigilant protection of the Syrian armed forces. Tragically, these relentless shelling attacks have claimed the lives of no less than 83 civilians, including 29 children and 11 women.
