According to reports from Cairo News Channel, 10 Israeli soldiers and officers have died by suicide since October 7th, as disclosed by Israeli media sources.
Israeli newspaper “Haaretz” revealed that 10 officers and soldiers of the occupation have taken their own lives since October 7th, with some incidents occurring during conflicts in settlements near Gaza.
Experts cited by the newspaper emphasized that most suicide cases within the army involve young soldiers.
However, since October 7th, there have been unusual trends, with the military suddenly facing suicidal tendencies among soldiers and officers in their thirties and forties, both in active duty and reserve service.
The publication noted one instance where an officer in active duty was found in his car after shooting himself, just two weeks after the “Operation Guardian of the Walls.”
The Israeli military, known as the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), plays a pivotal role in the defense and security of Israel. It has a long history of involvement in conflicts and operations, particularly in the Middle East region.
The IDF is one of the most technologically advanced and well-equipped military forces globally.
However, alongside its operational challenges, it also faces internal issues, including mental health concerns among its personnel.
Suicides within the IDF have been a recurring issue, prompting discussions about mental health support and strategies for prevention within the military.
