Military tensions continue to rise along the Lebanese-Israeli border as clashes between the Israeli army and Hezbollah intensify, involving airstrikes, artillery exchanges, and drone attacks.
According to Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health’s Emergency Operations Center, an Israeli drone strike targeted a vehicle in the town square of Jdeidet Marjayoun in southern Lebanon, killing one person and injuring nine others on Tuesday evening.
Hezbollah issued separate statements claiming that its fighters had launched rocket attacks on Israeli artillery positions in Al-Zaaoura. It targeted the Israeli-occupied Ruweisat Al-Alam hills in the Kfarchouba region.
In retaliation, an Israeli drone struck the southern Lebanese town of Yaroun on Wednesday afternoon.
Earlier, Hezbollah had reported artillery attacks on the Israeli Ma’ayan Baruch military site and a group of Israeli soldiers positioned in Al-Malikiyah. In response, Israeli artillery shelled the town of Al-Khiam in southern Lebanon, igniting a fire in a residential home.
The shelling also targeted Al-Aziyah hill and the outskirts of Naqoura, as well as the areas near the towns of Deir Mimas and Kfar Kila, according to Lebanon’s official National News Agency.
Lebanon’s Ministry of Health confirmed that three people were killed in Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon earlier this week, including two Hezbollah members.
The ministry noted that the Israeli airstrike on the town of Marjayoun initially resulted in two deaths and four critically injured individuals.
The Lebanese National News Agency reported that the Israeli drone strike targeted a vehicle in the bustling commercial area of Jdeidet Marjayoun.
Additionally, the Ministry of Health stated that another Israeli airstrike on the town of Blida resulted in one death and one injury.
The Israeli army confirmed in a statement that its air force targeted Hezbollah infrastructure in the Blida area. Later, the Israeli military announced that an airstrike eliminated Hezbollah operatives active in the Marjayoun region.
