WhatsApp is reportedly testing a new feature that allows users to send self-destructing voice notes, offering an additional layer of privacy.

Similar to the option available for photos, users can now set voice notes to be viewed only once before self-destructing, according to reports from WABetaInfo.

When recording a voice note, users will see a number one inside a circle. By selecting this option, the voice note becomes a one-time listen, ensuring heightened privacy for the sender.

However, it’s worth noting that recipients won’t be able to replay the audio, so careful consideration is needed before activating this feature.

This development comes as voice notes have gained significant popularity on messaging platforms.

The self-destructing option for voice notes provides users with more control over the lifespan of their audio messages. This feature is currently in beta testing on both Android and iPhone devices, with a broader rollout expected in the coming days.

The self-destructing voice note feature could be particularly useful for sharing sensitive information or engaging in private conversations without concerns about the longevity of the audio message.
