WhatsApp, the popular instant messaging app, has announced a new feature allowing users to send voice messages that can be listened to only once before disappearing.
This feature aims to add an extra layer of privacy for users sharing sensitive information.
In a statement released on its social media platforms, WhatsApp said: “Say it once, play it once. Now you can choose ‘view once’ when sending a voice note for added privacy.”
According to the official blog post by Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp, this new feature is developed to provide users with an additional privacy layer for their messages.
This enables users to share sensitive information via voice messages securely without the fear of it being leaked.
In addition to voice messages, users can send photos or videos on WhatsApp that disappear after the recipient opens them and exits the media viewer.
Once the recipient exits the media viewer, the media will no longer appear in the chat, and the recipient cannot view it again.
The ‘view once’ photos and videos will not be saved in the photo gallery or album on the recipient’s device, and they cannot be forwarded.
This update represents WhatsApp’s ongoing commitment to user privacy and security, providing users with more control over their shared content.
