English club West Ham United has announced the appointment of Spanish coach Julen Lopetegui as the team’s manager, succeeding Scottish manager David Moyes.

Moyes departed from coaching the team at the end of the season after a journey spanning several years with the London-based club.

Lopetegui’s most recent coaching experience includes leading the English club Wolverhampton Wanderers, and he has also been targeted by several Saudi teams.

West Ham United released a statement on its website, confirming that Lopetegui will officially assume his duties starting July 1st.

It is worth noting that Lopetegui has previously coached Real Madrid, the Spanish national team, Porto in Portugal, and Sevilla in Spain.
