Yael Lambert, the newly appointed US Ambassador to Jordan, has expressed her keenness to strengthen the strategic partnership between Washington and Jordan.
During her speech on the sidelines of submitting her credentials to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Lambert said: “I am truly honored to assume my responsibilities as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the United States to Jordan.”
Earlier this year, the US Embassy in Amman announced that President Joe Biden had nominated Lambert for the ambassadorial role in Jordan.
Throughout her distinguished career, Lambert has held several significant roles across various countries in the region. She is a high-ranking official in the Foreign Service with the rank of Minister-Counselor.
Before her official duties in Jordan, Lambert previously held the position of Acting Assistant Secretary of State and was the First Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs.
During the period between June 2017 and December 2018, she served as the Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Egypt and North Africa.
