The US Central Command announced today, Sunday, that it had destroyed two anti-ship ballistic missiles launched by the Houthis and a drone in the southern Red Sea.
In a statement, the US Central Command reported, “Forces destroyed a Houthi drone in the southern Red Sea. Additionally, forces observed two other unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) crashing into the Red Sea. No injuries or damage were reported by US, coalition, or commercial vessels.”
The statement added, “US Central Command forces successfully engaged and destroyed two Houthi anti-ship ballistic missiles (ASBM) in the southern Red Sea. These missiles were launched towards the USS Gravely and were destroyed in self-defense without causing any damage or injuries to US, coalition, or commercial vessels.”
On Saturday evening, the Houthis claimed to have conducted six military operations targeting the US aircraft carrier “Eisenhower” for the second time in less than 24 hours, along with another US destroyer in the Red Sea and four commercial ships.
The Houthis affirmed their readiness for a long-term battle with the United States, stressing that they have complete control over the waterways in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea.
