The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) announced on Tuesday $53 million in urgently needed humanitarian assistance for the people of Gaza and the West Bank.
“There is still much more that needs to be done to increase the capacity of aid workers to deliver this life-saving assistance,” said USAID Administrator Samantha Power in a video during the preparation of a new shipment of aid to be delivered to the residents of Gaza and the West Bank, as reported by Al-Hurra America.
Power considered this assistance necessary and essential to reach those in need in light of the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip. She called for providing security and protection for aid workers “who risk their lives on the ground in Gaza to deliver food to those who need it most.”
