The Algerian Presidency reported that President Abdelmadjid Tebboune met with General Michael Langley, Commander of the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM).
The meeting was attended by General Said Chengriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, Boualem Boualem, Director of the Presidential Office, and Ben Attou Boumediene, Presidential Advisor for Security and Defense Affairs.
Additionally, on Tuesday, General Said Chengriha, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, welcomed General Michael Langley at the National Army Headquarters. General Langley is on an official visit to Algeria, heading a significant military delegation.
A statement from the Ministry of Defense indicated that both sides discussed the security challenges facing the African continent and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, as well as ways to enhance military cooperation between the two countries.
In his remarks, General Said Chengriha emphasized that Algeria continues its efforts to bolster the joint African initiative to combat and prevent terrorism.
He added that Algeria has launched several initiatives to strengthen mechanisms for joint security cooperation between the two nations.
