Under Operation “Chivalrous Knight 3,” the UAE has begun restoring and operating damaged water networks in northern Gaza.
This initiative follows a Memorandum of Understanding with Gaza Municipality, aiming to provide urgent humanitarian aid and funding to repair water wells and reservoirs in the region.
The project addresses the severe water shortage caused by the destruction of 60 wells, damage to main water networks, and the shutdown of desalination plants, which has led to significant water contamination.
By repairing water lines and networks, the UAE aims to deliver clean water to densely populated areas, reduce pollution, and create a healthier environment for Gaza residents.
The UAE has previously supported similar efforts in Gaza, including repairing wells and water tanks in Khan Younis. Additionally, the UAE has established six desalination plants in Rafah, Egypt, supplying over 600,000 people in Gaza with clean water.
Through this ongoing operation, the UAE continues to provide essential aid, including daily water deliveries to displaced families across Gaza, helping to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in the region.
