The UAE and Qatar announced the restoration of diplomatic representation between the two countries by reopening their respective embassies on Monday.

Both the UAE’s embassy in Doha and Qatar’s embassy in Abu Dhabi as well as its consulate in Dubai resumes work on 19 June.

This step comes within the framework of the Al-Ula agreement and the joint keenness on strengthening the bilateral relations between the two sides.

“The two sides affirm that this step represents the will of the leaders of two countries, and in the consolidation of joint Arab action, in a way that achieves the aspirations of the two friendly nations,” according to the UAE’s foreign ministry.

In the same vein, Qatar’s Foreign Ministry posted a statement on Twitter that read:  “The two sides underlined that this step comes as an embodiment of the will of the leaderships of the two countries, and in the consolidation of the march of joint Arab action, to achieve the aspirations of the two brotherly people.”
