In the city of Am Timan, Chad, the UAE-built field hospital continues its ongoing mission of providing crucial medical aid to Sudanese refugees and the local community, marking an unwavering commitment to humanitarian assistance in the region. The facility, which primarily serves the most vulnerable demographics such as patients, children, the elderly, and women, has already welcomed 1,744 medical cases since its inauguration on July 9th.

This critical healthcare support comes in response to the dire humanitarian situation caused by the conflict in Sudan since the beginning of April. The UAE is providing this aid to not only assist Sudanese refugees but also to support Chad, a nation grappling with the effects of a significant influx of refugees due to the turbulent situation in Sudan.

Since its launch, the field hospital has attended to a diverse range of medical conditions. This includes 173 orthopedic cases, 225 surgeries, and 1,346 internal medicine cases, along with conducting 11 operations. The volume and range of treatments underscore the vital role this facility plays in offering life-saving medical interventions for those most in need.

The establishment of the field hospital exemplifies the UAE’s role in humanitarian, relief, and medical support efforts, particularly for those affected by the crisis in Sudan. Moreover, it reinforces the solidarity between the UAE and Chad in their shared response to mitigate the human toll of the crisis caused by the large influx of Sudanese refugees.

In conclusion, the UAE Field Hospital in Chad stands as a beacon of hope for Sudanese refugees and the local community, representing the UAE’s unwavering commitment to supporting affected communities in times of crisis.
