The UAE and Ethiopia signed 17 agreements in various sectors, including industry, agriculture, investment, and financing.

Emirati President Mohamed bin Zayed made an official visit to Addis Ababa on Friday and was received by Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.

The agreements were signed in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, in the presence of Abiy Ahmed and bin Zayed.

During the meeting, the two sides held talks aimed at strengthening the friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries in various aspects.

They also highlighted the importance of building bridges of cooperation and effective partnerships that contribute to improving the quality of life and promoting prosperity for their people.

In 2022, the two countries traded non-oil goods wort$1.4 billion, as the UAE invested $2.9 billion in Ethiopia.

The UAE’s non-oil exports to Ethiopia grew by 4.5% year-on-year (YoY) to $210.3 million in 2022, reflecting a robust recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic-induced slump in 2020, when they fell by 22%.
