The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has strongly condemned the burning of a copy of the Holy Quran by extremists in Denmark. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement calling on the Danish government to take responsibility and put an end to such actions.
In the statement, the UAE emphasized the importance of monitoring and addressing hate speech that can negatively impact peace and security. The Ministry also expressed its rejection of using freedom of expression as a justification for such heinous acts.
The UAE reiterated its stance against any practices that undermine security and stability and go against human values and principles. The Ministry asserted that hate speech and extremism are contrary to international efforts aimed at promoting values of tolerance, coexistence, and peace among people.
Furthermore, the Ministry stressed the need to respect religious symbols and avoid incitement and polarization. It highlighted that during these times, the international community should work together to reaffirm its commitment to upholding universal principles of tolerance and peaceful coexistence, and promote stability and sustainable development.
