The market value of Turkish companies’ investments in Algeria currently stands at around $6 billion, according to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a business forum in the Algerian capital on Tuesday.

Erdogan expressed his hope to raise the value of investments to $10 billion as soon as possible.

He added that Turkey is the largest investing country in Algeria and provides the most job opportunities, except in the oil and natural gas sector.

Erdogan mentioned that about 1,400 Turkish companies partner with Algerian companies in Algeria, providing employment opportunities for around 5,000 Algerian citizens.

During Erdogan’s visit to Algeria, the first since 2020, 12 cooperation agreements were signed between the two countries.

The cooperation agreements covered various fields, including trade, education, culture, cinema, environment, and science, and were signed by Turkish and Algerian officials.
