Former US President Donald Trump has stirred controversy by demanding that President Joe Biden undergo a drug test before their upcoming debates.
Trump made the assertion during a speech at the Minnesota Republican Party’s Lincoln Reagan Dinner, asserting, “I’m gonna demand a drug test too, by the way. I am, no I really am. I don’t want him coming in like the State of the Union, he was high as a kite.”
Trump’s comments follow previous remarks where he claimed Biden was “all jacked up” and “higher than a kite” during his State of the Union address. The former president has scheduled two debates with Biden, slated for June and September on CNN and ABC.
“They gotta be fair, I think they gotta be fair, and if they’re not, you know, you have to deal with it. Right? You have to deal with it,” Trump added at the dinner.
Republican Rep. Greg Murphy (N.C.) echoed similar sentiments, suggesting Biden was under the influence during the State of the Union, citing his observations from the event.
