The Iraqi Security Media Cell announced today, Saturday, that a terrorist cell in Kirkuk province has been eliminated.

The cell, as reported by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that “in accordance with the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and in revenge for our martyrs in the recent terrorist operation in Kirkuk and all operational sectors, with planning, supervision, and follow-up from the Targeting Cell, the Joint Operations Command continues to devise plans to pursue the remnants of the ISIS terrorist gangs.”

It added that “Iraqi F_16 aircraft succeeded in killing a terrorist squad of ISIS elements,” explaining that “the targeting operation came according to information from the Falcons Cell in the Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency by monitoring their movements in the Al-Rifai village in Al-Rashad district in Kirkuk province.”

It continued that “after the strike and with high coordination between the Air Force and the ground forces, a force moved to inspect the targeted location and found the bodies of the terrorists, one of them wearing an explosive belt which was defused by the accompanying engineering effort along with other weapons and equipment.”

The statement confirmed that “the ongoing security work against ISIS terrorist gangs and monitoring their movements has had high-level results in resolving many operations.”

The Libyan Public Prosecutor's Office has ordered the detention of a criminal gang, consisting of seven Libyans and two Palestinians, pending an investigation into their involvement in illegal immigration and human trafficking operations. According to a statement from the Attorney General's office, a deputy prosecutor at the General Prosecutor's Office at the Tripoli Court of Appeals is handling the investigation, which was initiated based on evidence provided by an officer from the intelligence agency. This evidence purportedly demonstrates the group's involvement in coordinating the receipt of proceeds from organizing illegal immigration outside the country. The media office added that the investigation revealed the suspects managed the transfer of proceeds to other countries across the Mediterranean through the parallel market, despite knowing that the intermediary was subject to sanctions imposed by the U.S. Treasury Department. The suspects were also aware that these proceeds were part of operations conducted by organizations involved in illegal immigration and human trafficking. Consequently, the investigation has led to the detention of the seven Libyans and two Palestinians for further inquiry.
