The Somali Army, in collaboration with the Popular Resistance, successfully destroyed the largest base of terrorist militias in the “Ali Yabal” area of “Galgadud” province in central Somalia.

According to Somali National News Agency “SONNA” on Monday, Somali Army officers stated that “the military operation began early in the morning and is still ongoing, with the terrorist militias suffering significant losses during the operation.” They added that “the army forces and the Popular Resistance launched attacks from several directions on the terrorist militias’ bases in the area, successfully liberating the ‘Ali Yabal’ area from the remnants of the terrorists and completely destroying their bases.”

Earlier, the Somali Army, with the assistance of the Popular Resistance, eliminated 4 members of the terrorist militias while they were attempting to attack the ‘El Tere’ area in Galgadud province in central Somalia.

Colonel Mohamed Toghweeni, commander of the 24th Battalion of the Somali Army, stated, according to “SONNA,” that the 24th “Khalid bin Walid” Battalion of the Somali Army received information about terrorist elements attempting to launch a terrorist attack, where they successfully countered them in the vicinity of the ‘El Tere’ area.

He added that the “Kharijite militias” suffered heavy losses, noting that the army is pursuing the fleeing elements.
