Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vučić has announced the resumption of flights between Belgrade and Cairo within the next few weeks.
This move underscores Serbia’s commitment to enhancing communication channels and fostering a stronger relationship with Egypt.
Speaking at the Serbian-Egyptian Business Forum, which Extra News broadcasted, Vučić highlighted Serbia’s economic growth prospects, stating, “We anticipate more than 4% economic growth, as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) continuously updates its assessments. We hope to create a conducive business environment that will lead to more fruitful outcomes in the future.”
Vučić acknowledged the challenges of attracting direct investment amid the current global conditions, yet he encouraged Egyptian companies to participate in the Serbian-Egyptian Business Forum.
At the beginning of 2024, Yahya Zakaria, the Chairman of the Holding Company for EgyptAir, announced the launch of new direct flights to Misrata in Libya, as part of EgyptAir’s ambitious plan to expand its network in Africa.
With the addition of Misrata to its network, EgyptAir will now operate 15 weekly flights to Libya, including seven to Benghazi, seven to Mitiga, and one to Misrata.
In the same vein, Egypt and Serbia call have called for resolving the Ukraine crisis as soon as possible.
“In terms of international issues, our discussions dwelled on various aspects, first of all, the Ukraine crisis,” Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi told reporters. “We emphasized the need to reach peace as soon as possible,” he added.
