On Saturday, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic reaffirmed that his country will not join any military alliance and will remain neutral regarding the Ukrainian conflict.
Vucic emphasized that Serbia will abstain from joining any military bloc while continuing to invest significantly in defense, in line with the country‘s economic capabilities. Serbia, as reported by the Russian news agency TASS, will persist as the only militarily neutral state in this part of Europe.
“We aim to maintain our military neutrality responsibly. We want to protect our skies, land, and children ourselves, and we will continue to do so despite the extensive pressures exerted by NATO member states,” the president stated.
Earlier, the Serbian President expressed his expectation that Serbia would not join the European Union between 2026 and 2028.
Serbia’s decision to maintain its military neutrality in the face of regional and international pressures showcases the country’s commitment to a non-aligned stance amid ongoing geopolitical developments.
