Schneider Electric, a leader in digital energy management and automation, recently advocated for stronger collective action in decarbonizing the global economy and ensuring an equitable transition to net zero.

This call to action comes as part of their preparations for the upcoming COP28 United Nations Climate Change Conference.

The conference, to be held in Dubai from November 30 to December 12, will bring together government and private-sector leaders, climate experts, NGOs, and youth groups to discuss and collaborate on tackling climate change and achieving shared sustainability goals.

A major focus of the event will be evaluating the progress made since the 2015 Paris Climate Change Agreement through the first Global Stocktake.

Schneider Electric aims to highlight the critical role of electrification, automation, and digital technologies in reducing carbon emissions, which are pivotal in sectors like industry, buildings, homes, data centers, infrastructure, and transportation.

The company’s CEO, Peter Herweck, emphasized the availability of technologies that can accelerate the reduction of emissions and costs, while also creating social, environmental, and economic benefits. He stressed that failing to act is no longer an option.

During COP28, Schneider Electric will be actively involved in the Technology & Innovation Hub, hosting discussions and showcasing solutions.

Their team will participate in panel discussions to share insights on corporate decarbonization, youth empowerment, and supply chain engagement.

Additionally, the company plans to release new research on decarbonization strategies, strengthen partnerships through the Schneider Electric Foundation, and announce new initiatives for supply chain decarbonization, including a collaborative report with Women Action Sustainability (WAS).

Jean-Pascal Tricoire, Chairman of Schneider Electric, emphasized the importance of developing energy efficiency and clean, affordable energy in response to global population and economic growth.

He highlighted digitization, IoT, big data, AI, and low-carbon electrification as key drivers in transforming our relationship with energy. According to Tricoire, adopting these technologies and new design methodologies are crucial for innovative, collective, and inclusive climate action.

He also pointed out the need for the corporate world, especially companies like Schneider Electric, to play a significant role in driving global sustainability efforts, in partnership with governments, communities, academia, and the business world.

Schneider Electric is committed to empowering all to make the most of our energy and resources, bridging progress and sustainability for all.

The company drives digital transformation across industries by integrating leading process and energy technologies, connecting products, controls, software, and services.

With a focus on open standards and partnership ecosystems, Schneider Electric is dedicated to its values of meaningful purpose, inclusiveness, and empowerment.
