Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman engaged in discussions with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and UK Foreign Minister David Cameron, as reported by the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on Monday.
During the meeting with President Abbas, the Crown Prince reiterated Saudi Arabia’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people until their rights are fully realized. He emphasized the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to facilitate a ceasefire in Gaza, underscoring its commitment to regional stability and peace.
President Abbas, speaking at the World Economic Forum (WEF) special meeting in Riyadh, called on the United States to prevent Israel from invading Rafah, warning of dire consequences for the Palestinian people.
In addition to his meeting with President Abbas, the Saudi Crown Prince also held discussions with Secretary Blinken and Foreign Minister Cameron. Secretary Blinken’s visit to Riyadh focused on Gaza ceasefire negotiations, with the US State Department emphasizing efforts toward achieving a pathway to an independent Palestinian state with security guarantees for Israel.
Secretary Blinken’s participation in a Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Ministerial meeting further underscores the ongoing diplomatic efforts to address regional challenges and promote peace and stability in the Middle East.
