Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan welcomed Saudi Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman Al Saud at the Presidential Complex in Ankara on Tuesday, as announced by Türkiye’s Communications Directorate.

Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler also attended the closed-door meeting. No further details were immediately available.

Relations between Turkey and Saudi Arabia have strengthened in recent years. Erdogan visited Saudi Arabia in July following his re-election as president in June 2023. He also visited Saudi Arabia in November to attend a joint summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League, which focused on the war in Gaza.
