Saudi Arabia will officially submit its bid to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup to FIFA on July 30th. The Saudi channel mentioned that FIFA will publish details of Saudi Arabia’s bid on its website at the beginning of August. Saudi Arabia is preparing for a FIFA delegation visit in September to review the kingdom’s preparations for hosting the World Cup in ten years. FIFA is expected to officially announce Saudi Arabia as the host for the 2034 edition during its next meeting on December 11th, as there are no other competitors.

Saudi Arabia will be the first country to host the finals alone after the tournament expands to include 48 teams. The 2026 edition will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, followed by the 2030 competitions in Morocco, Spain, and Portugal, with the first three matches in Uruguay, Paraguay, and Argentina. Saudi Arabia has launched the official identity of its candidacy under the slogan “Together We Grow.”

Saudi Arabia will host the 2027 Asian Cup after hosting several major international competitions on its soil in recent years such as the FIFA Club World Cup, the Spanish Super Cup, and the Italian Super Cup. The Saudi Professional League has become attractive to many of the game’s biggest stars, such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, and Neymar. Saudi Arabia will become the third Arab country to host the World Cup finals after Qatar in 2022 and Morocco in 2030.

Saudi Arabia has actively hosted significant international football events recently. In 2023, the FIFA Club World Cup was held in Jeddah, marking the first time this event took place in Saudi Arabia. The city of Jeddah was chosen for its state-of-the-art facilities and its reputation for hosting major international sports events. Additionally, Saudi Arabia hosted the second edition of the World Football Summit Asia in December 2023. This event brought together over 1,500 representatives from the football ecosystem to foster growth and collaboration within the industry.
