On Friday, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah, Advisor to the Royal Court and Supervisor General of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, delivered food aid to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The aid, given through the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization, will be handed over to the Jordanian Armed Forces and relevant authorities to be air-dropped to the Palestinian people in Gaza as part of the Saudi Popular Campaign for the Relief of the Palestinian People in Gaza.
This aid follows the recent delivery of parachutes and nets, weighing 30 tons, designated for humanitarian airdrops to support Jordan’s efforts to deliver assistance to Gaza and alleviate the humanitarian crisis there.
Since the onset of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the King Salman Center has launched a popular campaign through the “Sahem” platform to aid the Palestinian people, raising over 700 million Saudi Riyals to date.
Additionally, Saudi Arabia has established an air bridge, which has so far delivered 54 planes, and a sea bridge, which has seen the arrival of 8 ships.
The Palestinian Red Crescent in Gaza has also received 20 fully equipped ambulances, 30 generators, 10 water tankers, and over 500 convoys have crossed through the Rafah border crossing.
The King Salman Center has provided more than 6,546 tons of diverse relief materials to Gaza and has signed five agreements with various UN organizations to assist the Palestinian people, amounting to a total of $80.75 million USD.
This initiative underscores the commitment of the Saudi government to deliver urgent humanitarian and relief aid to the affected areas in Gaza through all possible means to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people amidst the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
