Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi oversaw the signing of 49 collaborative agreements between their nations on Monday.
This event followed a welcoming ceremony for the Saudi leader, held subsequent to the conclusion of the G20 Summit on Sunday, which convened officials from 30 countries in New Delhi.
These encompassed agreements between the Saudi Minister of Investment and India’s National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency, with a focus on sectors such as energy, petrochemicals, renewable energy, agriculture, and industry, as well as social and cultural initiatives.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, in an official statement on their webpage, noted that Modi and the Crown Prince conducted the inaugural leaders’ meeting of the Indian-Saudi Strategic Partnership Council.
The agenda encompassed a wide array of areas for bilateral cooperation, spanning energy security, trade and investment, defense and security, healthcare, food security, culture, and community welfare matters, among others.
In his opening remarks at the meeting, Modi said several initiatives have been identified to take “our close partnership to the next level. Our relationship will get a new direction and energy in today’s meeting”.
On his part, the Crown Prince noted: “I am very glad to be here in India. I want to congratulate India for the G-20 Summit”
The Saudi leader said the announcements made at the summit will benefit the world. “We will work together to create a great future for both countries,” he added.
