Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned the targeting of civilians in Gaza during a meeting between Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. The discussion focused on the escalating situation in Gaza and international efforts to address the crisis.

According to the official Saudi Press Agency, during the meeting, the Crown Prince emphasized the need for all possible efforts to reduce the escalation and prevent the spread of violence, given its dangerous implications for regional and global security and peace.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also stressed the importance of creating conditions for stability and a return to the path of peace, ensuring that the Palestinian people receive their legitimate rights. He characterized the targeting of civilians in Gaza as a heinous crime and a brutal attack, emphasizing the necessity of providing them with protection.

It is important to note that Gaza has been under Israeli bombardment since the launch of “Operation Sword of Al-Quds” by Hamas and other Palestinian factions on October 7th. In response to this operation, the Israeli military initiated “Operation Iron Sword.” The casualties in Gaza have been significant, with approximately 3,785 fatalities and around 12,500 injuries, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health.

On the Israeli side, approximately 1,500 individuals have been killed in the conflict. The situation in Gaza continues to be a matter of grave concern, with calls for immediate international intervention to achieve a ceasefire and lasting peace.
