The Presidential Advisor and the Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee for the International Economic Forum of Saint Petersburg, Anton Kobyakov, announced that over 900 agreements amounting to 3.8 trillion rubles were signed during the forum.
Speaking to journalists at the forum’s closing press conference, Kobyakov said, “More than 900 agreements, approximating a total sum of 4 trillion rubles, have been signed at the forum, including 43 agreements with representatives of foreign companies, notably from Italy and Spain.”
He added, “The agreements I am referring to have been taken into account, those that are not considered a trade secret. Many representatives of what are termed as non-friendly countries have arrived under the guise of their companies.”
For reference, the previous year’s Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum witnessed the signing of 691 agreements valued at 5.6 trillion rubles, figures which are not considered commercially secret.
The International Economic Forum in Saint Petersburg is being held from 14 to 17 June 2023, focusing on the key economic issues and challenges facing Russia, emerging markets, and the world as a whole. Notably, the United Arab Emirates is participating as the guest of honor this year, following Egypt in 2022 and Qatar in 2021.
