On Sunday, the Russian army announced it had seized control of the village of Ocheretino in eastern Ukraine, as reported by AFP.

According to the agency, this development is seen as further evidence of the advancements made by Russian forces in the conflict zone.

A statement from the Russian Defense Ministry declared that its troops had “fully liberated” the village, located in the Donetsk region to the northwest of Avdeevka, which has been under Russian control since February.

Last month, the Ukrainian company “TsentrEnergo” reported the destruction of the Tripoli thermal power station in the Kyiv region, following a morning attack by Russia.

According to the Ukrainian TV channel “Public,” the company stated, “As a result of the morning attack launched by Russia, the Tripoli power station in the Kyiv region was destroyed.”

The company detailed that a widespread fire occurred in the turbine workshop of the facility, with emergency services currently working to extinguish the blaze. It was also confirmed that no plant workers were harmed during the incident.

Earlier on Thursday, Sergey Lebedev, the coordinator of secret operations in the Mykolaiv region, reported to “Sputnik” about an airstrike likely targeting the Tripoli thermal power station in the Kyiv region.

Additionally, the Kyiv Regional Administration reported damage to one of the vital infrastructure facilities.

An air raid warning was issued across Ukraine early in the morning, starting at 4:42 Moscow time, according to the electronic map data from the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation. The warning was lifted around 7:00 Moscow time.

The Ukrainian newspaper “Babel” reported that during the alarm, targets in the Kharkiv, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Volyn regions were hit.

The company “Ukrenergo” reported damage to its facilities in four regions of Ukraine and the Kiev-controlled territory of the Zaporizhzhia region.

The Ukrainian energy company “DTEK” reported significant damage to two of its thermal power plants.

The Russian military regularly targets Ukrainian infrastructure, including energy facilities, defense industry installations, military command, and communications, in response to attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on civilian targets.
