The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Friday that its forces have successfully destroyed five Ukrainian “Bukovel-AD” electronic warfare stations.
According to the ministry’s statement, over the week, a “P-18” radar station, two additional radars, a launcher for the “S-300” anti-aircraft missile system, a Norwegian-made “NASAMS” combat vehicle, and the mentioned electronic warfare stations were all targeted and eliminated.
The statement further detailed that in the southern Donetsk direction, units from the “Eastern” force group improved their positions along the front line and repelled seven attacks by the Ukrainian armed forces in areas of the Zaporizhzhia region and the Donetsk People’s Republic.
The Ukrainian armed forces reportedly suffered losses of approximately 890 soldiers, three tanks, six armored combat vehicles, 28 other vehicles, and eight artillery pieces in this direction over the week.
The ministry also highlighted that Russian forces conducted 23 high-precision strikes using advanced weapons, multiple rocket launch systems, and drones against Ukrainian military-industrial complex facilities.
Additionally, Russian forces thwarted an attempted high-speed boat landing by a Ukrainian naval special operations unit in the Tendrov Spit area, resulting in the destruction and sinking of four enemy boats and neutralizing approximately 25 Ukrainian soldiers, with one captured.
Overall, the Ukrainian forces experienced significant losses on the Kherson front over the week, with more than 290 soldiers, three tanks, four armored combat vehicles, 34 vehicles, and 16 artillery pieces reported destroyed.
The ongoing Russian “special military operation,” initiated on February 24, 2022, aims to protect the residents of Donbas from what Russia claims to be persecution and genocide by the Kyiv regime.
Despite substantial financial and military support from NATO and several Western nations allied with Washington for Kyiv, the Russian forces claim to have thwarted a Ukrainian counteroffensive and destroyed a significant amount of Western-supplied military equipment.
This includes German “Leopard 2” tanks, American and British armored vehicles, and various other NATO-supplied armaments, all of which were targeted in Russian military strikes.
