Russian forces have taken control of Rozdolivka in eastern Ukraine, according to Russia’s Ministry of Defence on Friday. The ministry’s statement noted that the “Southern” military grouping secured more favorable positions by pushing Ukrainian forces out of Rozdolivka in the Donetsk region.

Mutual attacks between Ukraine and Russia persist. A Ukrainian drone strike ignited a fire at the oil depot for Russia’s Druzhba pipeline in Tambov, southeastern Russia. The fire was extinguished hours later, with no injuries reported, according to Regional Governor Maksim Yegorov, as cited by Reuters on Friday, June 28.

Ukraine has intensified attacks on Russian oil reservoirs, previously targeting several refineries and causing significant disruptions. These strikes aim at infrastructure supporting Moscow’s war efforts. Meanwhile, Russia has frequently targeted Ukrainian power plants.
