An advisor to the commander of Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF), Basha Teegh, launched a scathing attack on Egypt, calling for a halt to all Sudanese exports to the neighboring country.

He indicated that “all options are on the table” for dealing with Egypt’s involvement in Sudan’s affairs.

Teegh’s remarks, posted on the social media platform X, followed a statement by Egypt’s Foreign Ministry describing the RSF as a “militia.”

This statement was issued in response to RSF leader Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, known as Hemetti, who accused Egypt of meddling in Sudan’s ongoing conflict.

Teegh said the Egyptian stance “reveals the deep-seated animosity Egypt harbors against the Rapid Support Forces.”

He further accused Egypt of “exposing its true intentions and blatant interference in Sudan,” alleging that Egypt has been involved in the destruction of infrastructure, including factories, bridges, and other civilian institutions in Sudan.

He claimed these actions were a continuation of Egypt’s historical position toward Sudan.

Egypt has denied the accusations from Hemetti, who has been engaged in conflict with Sudan’s military since April last year. In a recent video statement, Hemetti accused the Egyptian Air Force of conducting airstrikes on RSF positions near Jabal Moya, south of Khartoum.

He also alleged that Egypt has been training Sudan’s army and supplying aircraft amid the ongoing clashes between the RSF and the military.

Hemetti claimed, “Egypt is now fighting against us,” and accused it of being one of six countries, including Iran, intervening in the conflict. In response, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Wednesday evening, rejecting Hemetti’s accusations.

The statement said, “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt denies the allegations made by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, leader of the RSF militia, regarding Egyptian air involvement in the ongoing battles in Sudan.”

The statement further called on the international community to review evidence to substantiate Hemetti’s claims.

Egypt has been involved in efforts led by the United States and Saudi Arabia to mediate an end to the conflict between Sudan’s military and the RSF.

Earlier this year, Cairo hosted talks between rival political factions in an attempt to facilitate peace.
