In a statement broadcasted by RT, Putin mentioned that he does not believe “things are moving towards direct confrontation.”
He highlighted the unity of the Russian society as the country’s primary weapon, indicating that “those who thought of suppressing Russia with sanctions and armed force did not take into account the unity of our society,” in an apparent reference to the Western bloc supporting Ukraine since the war’s onset over two years ago.
The Russian News Agency quoted Putin saying that should American forces enter Ukraine, Russia would treat them as hostile entities.
