Putin Accuses West of Unfair Energy Market Tactics

Russian President Vladimir Putin has accused Western countries of using sanctions and claims of defending human rights and Euro-Atlantic values as tools for unfair competition in global energy markets.

Speaking at the Russian Energy Week plenary session, Putin said the West’s actions are designed to push politically unfavorable nations out of the market and limit their access to key services.

He argued that these measures are driven by a desire to maintain dominance and suppress competition. “The West often loses in a fair fight,” Putin stated, adding that it resorts to tactics such as discrimination under the guise of solidarity and human rights advocacy.
