The Palestinian Prime Minister, Mohammed Mustafa, announced on Tuesday the formation of a national team tasked with the reconstruction of Gaza, marking a year since the ongoing Israeli war on the region. The team is composed of various ministries and governmental bodies, led by the Ministry of Planning.
In a speech commemorating the anniversary of the war in Gaza, delivered at the opening of the weekly government meeting, Mustafa emphasized that the government has continued to provide essential services, including health, education, and municipal services, while also managing to bring in fuel supplies to the extent allowed by the security situation.
The Red Crescent reported on Tuesday that more than 10,000 Palestinians are still missing under the rubble in the Gaza Strip.
This announcement comes just after the first anniversary of the onset of the war in the region.
According to the Gaza Health Ministry, the death toll from the Israeli offensive on Gaza has reached 41,909, with 97,303 injuries recorded since October 7 last year.
The Health Ministry also confirmed that many victims remain under debris and along roadsides, unreachable by emergency and civil defense teams due to ongoing conflicts.
Israeli forces continue to carry out daily airstrikes and artillery shelling across Gaza, from north to south, targeting residential areas, mosques, schools, and tents sheltering displaced individuals.
These attacks, purportedly aimed at Hamas operatives, predominantly claim the lives of children and women, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the area.
