Today, numerous Palestinian female students suffered injuries following an assault by Israeli occupation forces on a school in Beit Ummar town, located north of Hebron in the West Bank.
The Wafa News Agency reported that Israeli forces stormed the town and unleashed a barrage of toxic gas canisters targeting the courtyard of Zahra Al-Mada’in Primary School while students were present. The attack resulted in several teachers and dozens of students suffering from inhalation issues due to the gas.
Earlier in the day, a Palestinian individual was reportedly killed, while others were injured and detained during Israeli forces’ incursions into areas within the West Bank.
Notably, dozens of settlers entered the revered Al-Aqsa Mosque, escorted by heavily armed Israeli occupation police. According to the Palestinian News Agency, the settlers’ intrusion occurred in separate groups.
They carried out provocative tours within the mosque’s courtyards and performed Talmudic rituals. Such provocative incursions by Israeli settlers into the Al-Aqsa Mosque are part of ongoing efforts to establish control over the religious site and impose a new status quo.
The Jewish holidays begin with Rosh Hashanah, the “Jewish New Year,” on the upcoming Saturday and Sunday, corresponding to September 16 and 17. Following this, the “Ten Days of Repentance” will see an escalation in such intrusions.
Afterward, Yom Kippur, the “Day of Atonement,” falls on Monday, September 25. The festival then culminates with Sukkot, the “Feast of Tabernacles,” starting on Saturday, September 30, and continuing until the following Saturday, October 7.
