The Palestinian Foreign Ministry has vehemently condemned the “brutal and bloody incursions carried out by Israeli occupation forces in Palestinian cities, towns, and camps.”
In a recent statement, the ministry labeled the raid on the “Aqba Jaber” camp south of Jericho as a “war crime against humanity.” This adds to the list of extrajudicial killings committed by Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian people.
The ministry also sees the “Jericho crime” as Israel’s official response to the tripartite summit held in Egypt between Palestine, Egypt, and Jordan. This is viewed as Israel’s response to all forms of normalization with the occupying state and reflects the international community’s failure to provide international protection to the Palestinian people.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry holds the Israeli government fully and directly responsible for these crimes, stating they are a direct result of directives given by the political echelon in Israel, facilitating their soldiers to fire upon Palestinian citizens.
The statement further emphasizes that the Palestinian Foreign Ministry “will pursue these crimes, as with previous ones, with the International Criminal Court (ICC).” The ministry is calling on the ICC to break its silence, shoulder its responsibilities, and fulfill its obligations towards the assaults and crimes against the Palestinian people, eventually holding the Israeli war criminals accountable.
Earlier today, the Palestinian Health Ministry announced the death of two Palestinians after they were shot in the chest by Israeli occupation forces during their raid in the West Bank city of Jericho. The Health Ministry identified the victims as the 16-year-old Qusai Omar Sulaiman Al-Walji and the young man, Mohammed Rabhi Najoom, aged 25, who were killed during the aggression on the “Aqba Jaber” camp in Jericho.
