Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, engaged in productive discussions with the Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, Sigrid Kaag.

The primary aim of their meeting was to enhance economic cooperation between their respective countries.

In her post-meeting statements to the media, Kaag underscored that her visit to Morocco was part of an overarching effort to bolster the friendly relations and collaborative efforts between the two nations, with a particular focus on economic cooperation.

She emphasized that her visit to Morocco reflected the exceptionally high level of friendship and cooperation that currently exists between Morocco and the Netherlands. Kaag pointed out that both countries maintain robust economic relations and share aspirations to lay the groundwork for their future partnership.

The discussions between the Moroccan and Dutch ministers serve as a testament to their commitment to fostering economic collaboration and creating opportunities for mutual growth and development.

This visit underscores the dedication to advancing economic partnerships between Morocco and the Netherlands and highlights the importance of international cooperation and the strengthening of diplomatic ties in our increasingly interconnected world.

Moroccan Royal Airline (MRA) is planning to invest up to $25 billion to quadruple its current fleet size from 50 aircraft to a whopping 200 over the next ten years.

The announcement was made by the company’s CEO, Abdelhamid Addou, during the sidelines of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank meetings in Marrakech.

Addou stated that the primary objective behind this ambitious aircraft acquisition plan is to position Morocco as a global hub. The country aims to transform Casablanca into a modern aviation center with substantial capacity, especially as Morocco secured the rights to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

This decision marks a significant acceleration in the airline’s previous fleet expansion plans, which originally spanned a 15-year timeline. Prior to 2019, the airline had a fleet of 60 aircraft.
